The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

I really should have just stayed in bed yesterday. Braden woke up at 3 am puking. In the morning he ate his breakfast just fine and he seemed to be doing better so I thought it was just something he ate. I decided to take him to the gym...Bad idea. The minute I walked in he puked all over me. We came home and he crashed. Again, when he woke up he was just fine. I decided to keep my doctors apt and dropped Braden off at Tom's cousin Brooke's house. When I got back we hung out and had dinner until about 8 pm because our husbands were in Tempe hanging Christmas lights. I was in a rush to get home and when I strapped Braden into his car seat I threw the keys in the front seat. Somehow it hit the lock button and I didn't realize it until it was too late. Braden was locked in the car!! This is my worst nightmare, I totally panicked! I ran back into Brooke's house to see if I could drive her car to my house to get the spare key, but then I realized my house was locked and the garage door opener and house key were in the car!! I had no choice but to call 911. They first sent over a policeman, but he had no tools to do anything. In the meantime I called our insurance company to send roadside assistance. The closest person they had was over 30 min away. Then the firemen showed up and did what they could, but BMW's are locked up tight! After about 35 minutes Braden threw up, so they sent for an ambulance. I told them he was sick, but he wanted to think there was something more wrong. I felt so helpless and sad for him. This was all my stupid fault! They were just about to break the window when the locksmith finally showed up. It took him about 10 minutes, but he got it! I was so relieved. Braden was pretty upset, but he was mostly just exhausted. They checked him out and said he was good to go, they even gave him his own fireman's hat. He fell asleep in my arms five minutes later. It all sucked pretty bad, but it could have been so much worse. I am so glad it wasn't summer and that they didn't have to break a window. I just gotta thank Brooke for staying with me and keeping me calm. And for taking the pictures even though they were laughing at her:) So yeah- that was my day... I definitely learned my lesson and won't be letting that happen again!

OHHHHHHHH---Kassie, I feel your panic!! Hopefully your heart has stopped racing and you can breathe again. Oh the joys of being a parent. Glad it all worked out.

OMG! That totally is the worst thing. My mom did that when Shawna and Bubs were little. I'm so glad they got it open and Braden out. I'm so sorry!

What a brave kid! Good news, Kassie, he doesn't look too traumatized by it! =)

I totally locked Jax in the car once. We were in the WalMart parking lot. My mom was with me but my spare keys were home, far away. And Devin wasn't off work and I don't know why we didn't even think to call 911 or my insurance, my mom just broke the window! Then we had to pay to fix it--like $180! But Jaxon was screaming b/c it was kinda warm and I was freaking out so I didn't care. I just wanted him out! So, anyway, I feel for ya! It's scary!
