It's Bok Choy.....

and it is delicious!!
(Thanks for your help Heidi)
Here is a yummy recipe I found if any of you have some bok choy on hand:)

  1. 1
    Wash bok choy very well.
  2. 2
Slice across the leaf at about 1/2 inch intervals.
  3. 3
Discard the bottom when you get to the part with no green on it.
  4. 4
    Drain thoroughly.
  5. 5
Chop chicken breasts into 1/2 to 1 inch chunks.
  6. 6
Heat oil in a wok or large, high-sided frying pan with a lid over medium heat.
  7. 7
When oil is hot, add garlic.
  8. 8
Saute for a few seconds, then add chicken.
  9. 9
Saute until slightly browned all over (no pink showing on the outside).
  10. 10
Add bok choy and stir-fry for about half a minute, until just wilted.
  11. 11
Add soy sauce vinegar, sugar and lemon juice.
  12. 12
Cover and cook until chicken is done; about 5 to 10 minutes.
  13. 13
Serve over steamed white rice with soy sauce or teriyaki sauce.
  14. ENJOY!!!!

What is this???

Calling all you veggie lovers! I picked up my bountiful basket this week and found these...
My first thought was that it was a leek, but I'm not sure. I googled it, but couldn't figure it out. Can anyone help me out here???

Summer Fun

Braden had a blast swimming and jumping with his friends/cousins Kylee and Parker.

Live. Laugh. Love.

Last weekend we went out with the Garlock's to Texas Roadhouse for Tom's cousins birthday. We hadn't taken a family picture since Brooklyn was a couple days old, so we got an updated family picture...

Camping 2009

A couple weeks ago Tom's brother Grant and his sister Ruth came down for a visit. The original plan was to go to Lake Powell with the Garlock's, but about two weeks earlier their boat was hit and needed some major repairs. They tried so hard to have it ready in time, but there was just too much to do...So we went camping instead! We drove up to Payson and there was an instant 20+ degress drop. It was so nice! It did POUR on us for a couple hours, but other than that, it was beautiful. Thanks Uncle Mike and Aunt Debbie for planning the trip, we had so much fun!

New Trampoline

For Braden's birthday in October, I want to buy him a trampoline. Since they are kind of pricey, I wanted to make sure he really likes it. Every time we go some place where there is a tramp he goes crazy and won't stop jumping, but I was afraid once I got one he would get bored and never use it. So to test it out I bought him this 8 ft tramp on craigslist for a steal. He is LOVING IT. Even though it is a million degrees out, he is still out there jumping away. One morning while he was out jumping it suddenly started to downpour. I went out to bring him in, but he was having a blast! This is really the only time of year that we ever get rain, so he has only been able to play in it a couple times. HooRAY for rain!

(Don't worry Ruth and Grant, I will post the camping pictures soon!!)

Braden saying his ABC's and 123's

I have been trying to get Braden on video saying his alpabet and numbers for several months now, and finally he agreed to do it for the camera! It isn't his best, but I will take what I can get! I have no idea why he said it in such a funny voice...He is one funny kid for sure.
